Increase Blog Traffic

It doesn’t matter if your blog is your own; one that you create just for the heck of it, or if you’re truly a serious online marketer who uses blogs to gain money. Everybody wants to know how to increase blog traffic. That is actually the universal query.

Well, the great news is that by making use of a blog format for your website, you may have done a lot of stuff to get more traffic to your site. The search engines always love new content, and since blogs are changed far more often than a fixed website, the search engines see that as a content driven website and will ultimately rank it higher in the search engines.

There are some techniques that you can make use of, to increase blog traffic. Take note that it’s not just about any kind of traffic. It’s about getting high-quality traffic, one that is made up of people who are really into the stuff of your blog.

Here are some of the most successful ways you can utilize to increase blog traffic:

1. Update your posts often.  The more frequently you create new content for your blog, the greater the chances are that it will be seen by the search engines, giving you higher page ranks and a lot of free traffic.  But, here’s the deal: like all things, don’t believe that if one is good enough, then two or a lot more must be a lot better.  If you post new content too frequently in a day, the search engines will see that you are not building your site naturally and you might get penalized for it.

An effective strategy is to add an article every day for 21 days. I don’t know why, but that’s just the strategy.  After that, you can go down to a few posts per week, or you can continue doing so with one post a day, it’s actually all up to you.

2. Create content that will direct readers to your site. You can use the free Google keyword tool to select the kind of keyword phrases that browsers are using to search for your blog, and then create quality articles around that keyword. You can then submit your post to article directories such as EzineArticles.com.

3. Search for a while about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and use those techniques to build your site.  They will make your site searchable to search engines. You don’t need to be an expert about SEO; just a few concepts can be helpful.

4. Browse at other blogs and post comments with links back to your website.  Doing this will not only make you look pretty knowledgeable about your topic, but they will also be curious to check your blog and know a bit more about what you have to say, that is, if you post meaningful and insightful comments.

These methods are the easiest ones that will help you increase blog traffic to your site. Don’t waste a ton of money on costly pay per click campaigns when you can gain even better results with just a little time and effort.
